From Bogotá to Germany: A Journey of Courage, Resilience & Transformation

I am Nadia Patricia Stefan, a German citizen with roots in the vibrant metropolis of Bogotá, Colombia. My story is one of courage, transformation and the unwavering belief that we have the power to shape our own future.

​

At the age of 22, I arrived in Germany with a suitcase, a degree in Business Administration and a vision for the life I wanted to build. I left behind the familiar to start again in a new country, a new language and a new culture.

​

What began as a leap into the unknown became one of the most defining decisions of my life.

​

Four years later, I earned my Master’s degree in Business Information Systems (Diplom-Wirtschaftsinformatikerin) in Germany, standing out as the only woman with a migration background in my academic environment. It was more than an academic achievement. It reinforced a conviction that has guided me throughout my life:

Over the past 20 years, I have built extensive international experience across Cybersecurity, OT Security, Data Protection and Executive Coaching, working across 20 countries and navigating complex business and cultural environments from Europe and Scandinavia to Asia and South America.

Throughout my career, I have held leadership and expert roles with internationally recognised organisations including Siemens, TÜV SÜD, Bayer, Grupo Banco Santander and DB Schenker, contributing to cybersecurity, data protection, governance and compliance initiatives in global environments.

As a certified ISO/IEC 27001 Senior Lead Auditor and OT Cybersecurity Specialist, I combine technical expertise, strategic thinking and business understanding with something I consider equally essential: the human dimension of transformation.
